  Today’s reflection is sparked by Brian Madden’s insightful article on TechRadar, “The AI second brain: The future of knowledge work,” which beautifully articulates the exact digital migration we have been navigating for years. Right now, the mainstream corporate world is treating artificial intelligence like a fancy typewriter. As Brian Madden points out, companies are deploying incredibly sophisticated LLMs purely for what he calls the “20% polish“—generating a final email, summarizing a meeting transcript, or formatting a deliverable. While this is helpful, it completely misses where the real value of knowledge work is forged. The true essence of our work lies in the invisible 80%: the quiet ruminating, judging, processing, and messy synthesis of disparate ideas that historically happens unseen in a worker's head.
